Elliptical trainers are relatively new in the fitness world but they most certainly have gained popularity fast and it&#8217;s pretty obvious to see why.</p>
<p>The elliptical bike offers benefits for the muscles, tendons, circulatory system and of course, is an excellent way to get cardiovascular exercise. They also help to increase bone density as well which is especially important for the elderly. And they not only give an excellent overall body workout, but they are also easy to use.</p>
<p>The main muscle groups that are effected include the quadriceps (legs), gluteus maximus (butt), latisimus dorsi (back) and to a lesser extent the deltoids (shoulders) and biceps (arms). When you factor in the cardiovascular benefits you can easily see why these machines are so popular among physical fitness enthusiasts.</p>
<p>The great thing about an elliptical exercise bike is that it takes up relatively little room which makes it excellent for those that prefer to exercise at home as opposed to visiting a health club. While they are expensive, ranging anywhere from $200 for the cheapest models and well in excess of $1000 for the higher end models, they will allow the individual to exercise from the convenience of their own home whenever they choose to do so.</p>
<p>You may want to consult with a physician before you start an exercise program in order to check not only your heart but also your extremities including the knees, hips, ankles and back. The way elliptical trainers are designed offers a low impact workout that can be done by just about anyone regardless of their fitness level but it is always a wise choice to get a physical first.</p>

These programs are great because they keep you from getting bored with the same old workout day in and day out.</p>
<p>It is also a good idea to switch up your routines so your body doesn&#8217;t get accustomed to doing the same thing over and over again. When you exercise you will reach a plateau after a certain period of time. By changing up your workouts you can exceed the plateau and get far better results from your efforts.</p>
<p>If for some bizarre reason I was ever told that I had to choose one single piece of exercise equipment for my home gym an elliptical exercise bike would definitely be one of my top choices. The quality of the workouts and the versatility that they offer make them an outstanding investment that will contribute greatly to your overall physical fitness and health for a long time to come.</p>
