Heart Monitors And Heart Zones

The zone that your heart usually starts off in is known as the Aerobic Zone area.
This is the next zone up from your natural resting heart rate. This is generally the zone that your heartbeat will go into at the commencement of a training session. You move on from this zone, when you have done enough exercise to push your heart into the next one.
The Anaerobic Zone
In this zone you will not be burning fat so much as using glycogen which is stored in the muscles and is more commonly known as lactic acid.
The Red Line Zone
This zone is not commonly experienced by casual fitness trainers. This zone is usually reserved for the extremely fit amongst us, the heart only stays in this very demanding zone for a short time, like in a top competing environment.

If you are dehydrated, your heart may be put under up to 7% more pressure to perform.
Humid and hot conditions, as well as heigth and altitude, can stress your heart by as much as 20%.
