Treadmills Sale – Getting the Most Bang for Your Fitness Buck

We all know that fitness equipment can be incredibly expensive. When looking for a treadmill sale there are some things that must be kept in mind so that you are able to spot true bargains and are spared from overpaying. Let us take a look at some of the things that you should be keeping an eye out for.

Treadmills are extremely popular exercise equipment. You can find them in any gym or health club and there are now millions of them sitting in the homes of Americans who aspire to be physically fit. If you’re able to at the very least walk, then you will be able to take advantage of the exercise that treadmills offer.

Another great advantage of treadmills is that unlike the outdoors, you can do your exercise in a controlled environment. That means that there’s no need to go out in the freezing cold, blazing sun and driving wind and rain to get in a good workout. As the saying goes, there’s no place like home.

A great advantage of treadmills is that they offer low impact exercise. If you were to walk or jog outdoors on the hard pavement you would soon realize that your joints and tendons will over time begin to feel the stress and strain of impacting the hard surfaces. That is not the case with treadmills because the decks are padded in order to minimize impact and therefore are a much healthier alternative.

Something else you will want to keep an eye out for when looking for a treadmill sale is what type of computer program it contains. Treadmills can range in price from hundreds of dollars to $3000 and more. Many of the higher-quality models will have computers on board that will allow you to select the type of workout and the intensity of the workout. Many of them also will allow you to monitor your heart rate while exercising.

A quality treadmill should have what is known as a continuous duty motor. The horsepower should be 1.5 and you will most definitely want to hear it operate before purchasing it. Another thing to keep in mind is the size of the belt. Look for treadmills that have a belt width of 17 inches or more.

There are some advantages to buying used treadmills. First off, and this is incredibly obvious I know, they are cheaper than new treadmills. You are going to want to make sure that they have a warranty though. Before buying, write down the make and model of the treadmill that you’re interested in and then do an Internet search so that you can read the reviews of people that have bought that particular brand and model. Amazon.com is a great place to read customer reviews.

Here’s another money saving tip for you. While it is a good idea to comparison shop on the Internet, you can also find some pretty great deals at traditional brick and mortar sporting good stores. Here’s how; visit several sporting good stores in your area and inquire about their floor models. Many times you can get great bargains when the store owners must get rid of the floor models that they currently have on display to make room for the new ones that have come out.

Legally the stores cannot sell these as new so you are going to get some great bargains because they’re just too darn big to store. You can also look for discontinued models. Once again, store owners do not want to keep these in their inventory because they take up so much space. And of course, they don’t make any money until they sell something.
