United Health Care Insurance insures millions of people across the United States. They offer various health care coverage policies for a wide array of people. The types of policies include co-pay, health savings accounts and student health insurance. The cost of each varies based upon deductibles, coverages and several other factors.

Let us break down the three main policies offered through United Health Care Insurance:

Copay Insurance

The way copay insurance works is that the insured is required to pay a predetermined, set dollar amount each and every time they visit the doctor of their choosing. The amount charged is usually relatively inexpensive and is paid for at the time of the visit.

All other expenses in addition to the predetermined payment are covered by United Health Care. Prescription drugs are also covered by the plan and require the insured to to make partial payment for any medication that they are prescribed. The cost incurred by the patient is usually nominal.

Health Savings Account

The health savings account is for people that prefer to have lower monthly premiums in exchange for a higher deductible. This type of policy is ideal for people that are otherwise healthy and rarely if ever visit a doctor’s office.

The policyholder is allowed to place the money that they save on their premium into a health savings account which can then be used towards their deductible when health care expenses do arise. This type of coverage gives more control to the policy holder as far as how their premiums are allocated.

Student Health Care Coverage

Because the vast amount of students are young they are for the most part, generally speaking, healthy and do not require a great deal of medical attention. Unfortunately life has a tendency to throw us curves every now and then and young people are no exception. They can and do become sick and injured so it is important that they are insured.

Because medical care is incredibly expensive it is important to have coverage year-round, even if the students are otherwise healthy. United Health Care Insurance provides students with affordable coverage that they would otherwise be without.
