<p> The morning meal <a target="_blank" href="http://www.howto-get-a-six-pack.com/152/get-six-pack-abs">jump starts your metabolism</a> and helps to put a stop to eating too much later throughout the day.  A cup of coffee doesn&#8217;t count – the caffeine and additional sugar will offer you a little bit of energy and control your appetite for a little despite the fact that it is certain to back fire into extreme cravings and you will be much more likely to overeat later on.  The first meal of the day ought to include complex carbohydrates like whole grain (granola or oatmeal), along with some food that contains protein and fat (low-fat yogurt or milk), will keep your energy levels constant and your cravings under control.</p>

<p> Many of us grab a snack for fast energy while we are feeling tired.  But do not exchange true hunger with exhaustion.  If you are feeling drained go for a 15-20 minute rapid walk.  This will raise your heart rate and offer you a boost of energy.  Follow it up with a huge glass of cold water.  If you are truthfully hungry have a snack that contains complex carbs and protein like; whole wheat crackers and peanut butter or cheese.</p>
<p> #5 Consume enough for your body’s needs</p>
<p> Consuming too little will slow your body’s metabolism the same exact way eating too infrequently does.  If you want to lose extra weight, don&#8217;t slash your calories too radically.  Instead, cut out a few of the unnecessary foods in your diet plan – foods  like soda, juice, packaged goods or candy.  Processed meals are more often than not high in extra fat and empty calories and very low in nutrition, minerals and fiber.</p>

You can perform yoga using the Wii Fit Board and even have your own personally trainer cracking the whip. The latest product for the Wii is the &#8216;Your Shape&#8217; trainer that uses digital camera movement recognition to tell you if you are exercising correctly.</p>
<p><strong>Nike+</strong> &#8211; This very clever gadget saw Nike team up with Apple’s ipod to offer runners a way to track exactly how far and fast they were running, as well a whole host of other features. <p><strong>Project Natal</strong> – This evolution for the Xbox takes interactive gaming to the next level and like the Wii Fit, there is a serious fitness focus that comes with it. Project Natal uses a very clever camera to map your exact movements and even recognise your face, so there is no need to login, just look into the camera. It maps the movement of your hands meaning you don&#8217;t need any accessories to have a sword fight or go bowling.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Do you have a metabolism that&#8217;s struggling to burn calories? A fat loss plateau is a sure sign of having a slow metabolic rate. Your body needs you to do something! There are a few ways you can boost your metabolism, including attending our <a target="_blank" title="Body Envy Boot Camps" href="http://www.bodyenvybootcamp.blogspot.com">Chandler boot camp program</a> and we will cover a few of the most important ones.</p>
<p>First off, you have to realize you have the power to get that slow metabolism kicked up a few notches.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re serious about losing body fat, then a metabolic rate that&#8217;s slow will not get you there. There are two main things you can do to put some fire underneath that metabolism of yours.</p>
<p>1) Eat</p>
<p>You read it right&#8230;Eat! A slow metabolism can and will increase the more you eat and the more frequently you eat.</p>
<p>Now you can not sit down to a meal of french fries and hot dogs all day and expect to lose weight. But, with a healthy diet in place with moderate amounts of protein, you are on your way to a livelier metabolism.</p>
<p>Spread those meals out over 5-7 smaller feedings throughout the day and you will feel your body firing up that internal furnace called your metabolism.</p>
<p>You see&#8230;your body will burn smaller meals similar to how a fire burns wood. Throwing a high calorie meal in your body is like throwing a big oak log on a small fire. It will simply smother the fire out.</p>
<p>On the other hand, if you put several smaller meals in your body throughout the day, it is like putting kindling on a fire&#8230;.you are providing a quick burning fuel for immediate heat!</p>
<p>Small frequent meals keep your fire (metabolism) burning, whereas big logs (meals) smother out the fire and initiate little heat production. We are looking for maximum heat. Having &#8220;mini&#8221; meals frequently throughout the day is a great way to keep your metabolic rate turned up.</p>
<p>2) Exercise.</p>
<p>Exercise blasts away calories. No real surprise, I know, but that&#8217;s the name of the game.  Participating in a <a target="_blank" title="Body Envy Boot Camps" href="http://www.chandlerbootcamp.wordpress.com">Chandler Arizona boot camp</a> like Body Envy Boot Camp, is a great way to burn calories.</p>
<p>&#8220;More calories out vs. calories in.&#8221; That is the basic underlying principle, but there are many other factors that come into play. We will keep it simple for our purposes.</p>
<p>Exercise, especially challenging interval type exercise, can help keep you burning calories all day long.</p>
<p>You see, muscle is an active tissue. Eating or better yet, calories, keeps your metabolism &#8220;alive&#8221;. Roughly 40-50 calories per pound of muscle is an estimate on how many calories your body requires per day to sustain it. That might not sound like much, but what if you added 5-10 lbs of lean muscle to your body? Having the potential to expend from 200-500 additional calories each day. That is a lot of extra calories! Especially when that happens naturally from having higher muscle mass levels and no additional activity is required&#8230;.bonus!</p>
<p>The best way to build calorie burning muscle is with resistance exercise&#8230;a.k.a. weight training. You should make it a point to add resistance training to your overall exercise program. Weight training will support your metabolism better than most other activities.</p>
<p>By using moderate to heavy weights, you will have elevated your resting metabolic rate. It is estimated that your resting metabolic rate (RMR) is responsible for roughly 60-70% of your daily energy expenditure. Anything you can do to elevate your RMR will have the greatest net effect on your fat loss efforts. Weight training has the biggest &#8220;bang&#8221; for the buck from an exercise stand point.</p>
<p>Cardiovascular exercise will also help elevate a slow metabolism. Your body will continue to burn additional calories, sometimes hours after you have finished your workout. The more intense (effort) your workout is, the longer your metabolism will continue burning calories at an accelerated rate.</p>
<p>Crank up the effort level of your exercise program and see what happens to your slow metabolism. Positive metabolism changes should be noticeable after a few weeks of implementing the right resistance based exercise program and the proper supportive nutrition. Incorporate some cardiovascular intervals, like <a target="_blank" title="Body Envy Boot Camps" href="http://www.bodyenvybootcamp.com/register1.html">fitness boot camp training</a>, to the mix when you are ready and the skies the limit.</p>
<p>Make sure to eat a basic nutrient dense diet with sufficient amounts of protein through out the day. Increasing your meal frequency will bring a slow metabolism back up.</p>
